What was this dial designer thinking of?

Unusual Sharp Ana-digi. So I get the 45-60 dial markings, but what can the 30-45 markings mean?
Not even sure if it'll run yet as it's bought but in the post to me just now. Any ideas on the possible movement or the dial markings?
Not much info out there on Sharp watches, so I'm assuming 1980's & that it's some badge-engineering on a citizen or Casio movement?

is the -025 the only one w/ a "big box set?"

i saw that baris mentioned that he had a "big box set" -025 that was limited to 90 pieces and had no idea of what that was. i found a sales listing on chrono24 (believe me, i have no connection to the seller or i'd try to scoop it up on the cheap...LOL):

Lubricating a watch during rebuild

Ok. So, I have gotten to the point where I need the oils, grease, etc. to finish my first service. I have researched to death what oils to use. Seems, like with most things in life, no two people agree!!

What I am asking is this, can some of you guys who have been doing this a while give a list of what you actually use. I know it is between 3 and 5 items, and I have no problems buying what I need, I just don't want to buy the wrong stuff.

What barrel breaking grease? What oils? Greases? Do you find that you really need to purchase one specific grease for the pallet stones? I have no problem doing it, just want to make sure that the guys who really do this stuff, and not necessarily doing it making a living at it, feel it is necessary.

I have read a couple of posts/threads here but there never seemed to be a definitive list. If a couple of people could list the couple of items they use, I could best guesstimate a consensus and get this thing back together.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Hi,

I've been offered by a local seller an Ecozilla for about $500. I haven't even seen it in person yet, but am wondering if any of you own / wear one.
I've never owned anything like it (my collection is almost entirely vintage) and at 55 mm... you tell me. Way too big to wear with a straight face?

Thanks!

Seiko 6119-6400 project

Hi all,
I snagged a nice 6119 6400 recently for a good price, and the risk paid off as under the scratched crystal the lume and dial are minty fresh. I'm intending on getting it fully serviced, but in the mean time i can't get the stem to stay in as the release button is sticky. Is there any technique to free these or shall i just leave it for the service? Also, for people that have serviced their 6119s, do people get the lower arbor ports jewelled ? I was wondering about getting this done as there's minimal wear but i wouldn't want to make it worse by wearing it. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Having a bit of a clear out. This is a Ramon special i haven't found time to do anything with. The lume is missing slightly from some markers. The bezel rotates but doesnt click, hole looks to be blocked so might need a new one drilling in the case? Crystal is scratched, but watch does run. Probably good for parts or daily knockabout after a bit of fettling (will need new seals etc)

£27.50 (net, no fees please) posted in UK.

soooo, are all the -033 fans who got their watches in hand

actually wearing them and ENJOYING them? i rarely see those who bought a -017 or -025 wear them across a few forums; so, are they just keeping them in the sock drawer?

i hope you guys who picked up the -033s are going to wear the hell out of them and not just put them on for the occasional wrist shot.

a watch, whether it cost $100, $1,000 or $10,000, was meant to be WORN (how else could you enjoy the fruits of your hard work, right?)! =)

oldie for me today...

Anyone ever try to take a Skx bezel insert and make the Lume hole larger to accept 61

Well as I close into all the parts necessary to get my upcoming 6105 build going...i see lots of skx bezel inserts with those small lume holes and my thinking was just precision drilling the lume hole to the 6105/6309 size...anyone ever attempt this?

This must be one of the rarest of the Twin Quartz, cause I've been search for quite some time and have yet to come across one. Was labeled King Quartz in Japan market and Twin Quartz rest of world. The movement has a unique complication, a time zone quick set hour change. I consider this to be my own little Grail, some day... Had anyone ever had the pleasure of owning one of these gems?

What to do with my old Monster

$

Attachment 416321

Bought my Orange Monster back in 2008 s/h from an eBay seller.
My first "proper" watch. Loved it then and still love it now.

It was always a watch that liked to be busy. If you were on the go 12-14 hours a day the timekeeping was good and power reserve was to spec. If you were day off...not so much.
I'm finding these days I'm spending way too much time drinking coffee and watching the world go by and the Monster isn't liking it. Time keeping is -45s , and worse, a day and power reserve is poor.
It was serviced 3 years ago so I don't think that's an issue.

I've been reading some about NH36 movement swaps into SKX007's.
Has anyone any experience of swapping that movement into a Monster ?.
And if so could anyone recommend who to do the work for me :)
