Hi everybody
This is my first post in this forum, so I think I should introduce myself. I am a watch enthusiast and collector living in Switzerland. During the day my profession has my head wrapped up in technical topics and in my spare time I like to get my hands involved too. I love watches for their design and aesthetic aspects. The core of my fascination is the wonder of the miniature mechanical "life" that is ticking away on your wrist. One of the brands I am really interested in is of course SEIKO.
Since getting into the hobby I feel it is a bit of a solitary one and my hope is to find some sense of community with you guys.
Right, on to the core of this post. At the moment I am working on a 6139B movement, trying to get it to run better than when I received it. It is a bit of an practice movement since I pulled it out of a franken-package. I took it apart completely, ran it through the ultrasonic, assembled and oiled it and managed to get it to run a bit better than before. I uploaded the before and after timegrapher trace. (I know the lift angle setting was wrong on the first reading)
I am happy to see some improvement, but the trace could be better. Since I am an amateur and fairly new to working on watches, I cannot quite read what the trace is telling me. Does anybody have ideas why the beat error seems so erratic?
(I have not demagnetized the thing yet, I am still waiting for the delivery of the demagnetizer)
Cheers
