FS:Fortis Skylark 1960's Automatic Stainless Steel watch 21 jewel ETA 2632..$149..

Offering a very good Stainless Steel Swiss Made Fortis Skylark model # 6259 from the 60's. The 21 jewel Fortis signed ETA 2632 automatic movement is running good and keeping good time. Service history is unknown and I always recommend a service when service history is unknown. Date at 6:00 is quickset. Dial is a very nice dark blue. No dings or dents in case, just a few light scratches due to careful wear. Comes on a new black leather band. Included is the original ( in poor shape) leather band with a Fortis signed buckle that was on the watch when I purchased the watch. This Fortis Skylark was probably worn very little since the original band had never been replaced.

As a military & vintage watch accumulator for over 20 years, most of my watches are 50 to 100 years old. I like wearing them, but a lot need a good COA service. Good watchmakers have become fewer and much more expensive over the years. It's just not cost effective any longer to have a seldom worn watch serviced.

I never have been a fan of quartz watches, but I needed & wanted an accurate & dependable watch I could pick up and wear with no worry. After much research with my son (an amateur modder), we came up with this. Without pretending to be an original, we incorporated all the best features of watches I like into one .
I've been wearing mine for several months now & love it.

The heart of this watch is in my opinion the best Quartz movement ever made.

Project Restoration/Build - 1977 Seiko 6139-6005 Pogue

Some of you may have seen my recent post in the Japanese Watch Discussion section about my most recent ebay purchase, this unmolested and untouched 6139-6005. I truly believe this watch has not been polished or serviced and is in it raw state after 41 years of use. There is not a dent or ding on this piece so i think it was knocking around somewhere in someones drawer. Link to original post and pics below.

Disassembled the case and bracelet today preparing for cleaning. Some very light rust under the bezel but believe the will clean up. I am going to leave this one unpolished and in its original state just as you see it other than ultrasonic cleaning. I see no evidence of any moisture intrusion into the case. Dial and hand lume are exceptional.

FS: Seiko 7A38-7070 £360

Seiko 7A38-7070 (1986).

A nice example of this fairly rare watch. The case shows a few signs of ‘wear and tear’, but nothing that diminishes from the overall look of the watch.

I fitted a new battery two weeks ago and the timekeeping is 0s. It’ll no doubt drift a little eventually, but not by much. These movements are incredibly accurate.

In the not too distant past, I did a ‘case’ service whereby I fitted all new gaskets and a new crystal.

All watch functions/buttons operate correctly. All hands zero bang on – though, as with all these chronos, they can move about a little on station, but we’re talking microns.

The bracelet is long enough to fit a 19.5cm wrist with one hole left to go on the clasp.

The only minor ‘flaw’ I can pick-up on, is that the bezel click isn’t as 'crisp' as it probably would have been when new. But then I have a second example which is similar, plus a few 7A28s and they vary too.

As per photo - selling a unused and unopended until I took the photo East Tech Manufacturing (Swedefreak) 350T02ANS0 Acrylic Crystal.

I believe this is for a Seiko Panda (6138-8020) and others?

Now surplus - remember having a big buy up many moons ago but have since sold the Panda, so this is just sitting around.

They were fairly good quality and sought after I believe. It has the silver metal ring around it. Looking for 50 dollars delivered.

I believe this is for a Seiko 6139-600x series chronographs and others?

I remember having a big buy up at one stage but seem to have purchased 1 or so 2 many and really have all the Pogues I ever plan to own these days, so this is just sitting around.

As per photo - selling a unused genuine Seiko 7016-5011/1 Crystal. The part number is SA0V11GNS0.

Seems to be a rarer crystal than the others for the Monaco Seiko's. I have moved on all my 7016 watches now and so this is surplus - photo does not show it opened, but it has a big steel bezel around the crystal - so it looks quite different from my other Monaco crystals (now also all sold) .

Looking for 80 dollars delivered.

For sale only: cheapest working seiko flightmaster. PLEASE read carefully. I will bullet point items so make it clearer.

-head only
-watch keeps time. Fresh battery (changed today)
-crystal has light scratches (hard to see but they are there)
-yellow center chronograph hand does NoT reset at 12. Will need to be realigned. See picture where the reset position is. I would say is a tick to the left
-there are scratches on the back (see pics) but no gouges.

Price is $85 FIRM. Paypaled and shipped to US. Movement price alone is already $75. Consider the fees and shipping cost, and i’m pretty much selling this watch for movement price.

[Q] Protecting vintage lume

Was just wondering, is there a type of permanent protective coating/seal that can be applied on a vintage tritium lume? Has it been done? I figured if ever the seals went bad at least the moisture/heat combination won't create a discoloration.

Presage FrankenSeiko

Having purchased a Cocktail Time for a low price I was rather concerned as to what and why after reading a topic 'Is this Presage genuine' or words to that effect. I think there is a topic on SCWF concerning this issue...somewhere.

There is a company in India modifying Presage watches with AM parts. When you look at them they really do look genuine unless you know the signs...of which there are two, one obvious and one not so. To the uninitiated they appear genuine. Looking at some of the parts they just could be genuine with dubious history. This smacks of the BMW spares being sold on the bay a few years back and think Johnny Cash and his FrankenMotor.

The most obvious sign is the 4R35A movement which does not have the gold colour rotor. The less obvious sign is the crown, it has a straight profile when the OEM is convex. The case, dial and hands look genuine parts...straight from Seiko stores.

These are now filtering into the west and one such 'Presage' has appeared on the bay. It has the obvious signs stated above. The seller has been notified, with proof links to India, but remains silent in the description. I suppose he/she was stung so he/she is going to sting some other poor bugger...and knowingly so.

So beware, Presage's DON'T cost £70 to £100.

Beware of 283540228899.

PS, AFAIK my Cocktail Time is genuine.

Hi all, the title is pretty much self explanatory: where can I find high quality fat spring bars for Seiko divers in 20 and 22mm (this includes the thicker tips as well).

I know UncleSeiko UK sells some, but I’m looking for other alternatives as well.
