target practice. Since the golf course was closed today, my son and I decided to try out the new Herters shooting bench. It was easy to set up and the Ruger 10-22 was a lot of fun to shoot.
I had lunch this week with one of my surf fishing friends. He gave me 3 additional magazines for my 10-22. We loaded them before we left and it does allow you more time in the field to shoot.

I have been chasing an affordable accurate daily wear to measure and set all my other watches to.
As I live in Australia, atomic time is not available. (I have a Navi hawk and i get no signal)
I recall the promaster tough adds from a few yes back and the range looks like they have a superior quality module- this could just be marketing hype.
Im interested in anyone who has owned either an altichron or a e/j168 movement in the tough or the diver series and how they have found the accuracy of these watches.

Wanting to sell or trade a blue Gravity Master aviation model 5240. I would rate it a 7-8 out of 10. It's been in my work rotation and my job can be hard on equipment but I also have the brown and orange ones and they seem to catch the most wear so it's time to move this one on.
A few scratches in the crystal but everything works as it should. Comes with tin, box, manual, extra bracelet links.
I would like to sell it ($300 plus whatever shipping method you choose) or trade for a Seiko diver. SRP, BFK, even an SKX007 or 013 with a ceramic bezel/upgraded sapphire, etc. Any good black and silver diver will be considered, any condition as well. Beaters welcome!!
Located in Amarillo, TX. but will sell anywhere with secured funds.
PayPal, bank transfer, venmo accepted.
I will ship anyway you like on your dime.
Any questions feel free to pm me or call/text.

Thanks,
William

My sumo is keeping good time +/-2 spd when resting at different positions (face up/down, at 12,3,6 and at 9 oclock);however, it is +7 seconds within 5 hours when it is on my wrist. Question is does the watch need a break-in period on the wrist?

Hi everyone, I'm having an issue trying to locate a barrel for a 4500 high beat King seiko.
I presume that there would be a degree of interchangeability between different calibres for various parts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have not a clue how else to get another barrel for this mechanism they are just becoming so rare that I purchased a donor watch and low and behold it had the same problem 5 teeth missing, with it being a high beat mechanism the teeth are smaller than normal lower beat mechanisms barrels and thus I'm not making new teeth.
I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
Many thanks
Kenny

For sale my Seiko 3923-5010 from 1973. Back in the day when the quartz revolution started the VFA models were the cream of the crop. One of the most unique models Seiko has made to this day, with the flashing LED, faceted crystal and curved caseback. :)
The watch is working well and the LED is still flashing as can be seen in the GIF. The watch is also nice and original. On the outside there are some knicks and scratches on the crystal and case. On the inside the dial is perfect. The watch will come on a new, unworn leather strap.
Brand: Seiko
Model: 3923-5010 vfa
Movement: 3923 quartz
Year of manucature: 1973
Width: 32mm
Lug width: 20mm
Price: 240 euro's
I will ship world wide at buyers cost

Greetings Seikoholics,
The Seiko SARX027 has recently caught my eye. Having no previous experience with enamel dial watches, I'm curious as to whether enamel dial watches are more delicate than regular watches. Do they have similar durability/impact resistance? I am looking for a nice looking watch that can stand some wear and tear.

I stumble on this UFO that I posted in the What Seiko Do You Have Incoming thread. I hadn't service a 6138 in a while, Brought back some memories (good to know my memory still works) Just a before and after, I am very happy with the outcome :) I was going to relume, But I can live with the Wabi as I wouldn't want to make an old watch appear new.

Hi all. I am brand new to this forum and i wanted to share a couple of my recent projects. I am thus far amazed at what I see here. Some great work by all.
I am an avid watch collector/enthusiast. I have been over on WUS and TZ for years, but just recently got up the courage to do my first full restoration on a Seiko 6106-5467 (similar to the one my Dad wore in the 70s) and most recently an eBay pickup 6319-6000 Sports. I did all the case and bracelet refinishing myself as well as a full teardown, service, and rebuild of the movements. I hope to learn a lot here and hope I can contribute in my own way. Thanks for looking.

I've recently found myself in a bit of a dilemma and thought I'd put this out to the forum to help me make my decision.
Now, normally, this would be an easy choice..but I've found myself particularly drawn to this one in spite of the fact that it's "just a watch"..as my wife would say while rolling her eyes.
So, here's the watch, a 6306 from 1979...with an amazing Ghost insert...any help regarding what to do would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Mike

Well, this is officially my second post. As I stated in my first post, I am new to this forum but have been over on WUS and TZ for years. Just recently stared restoring vintage Seiko after collecting for many years. I am an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast and have wrenched on those for years. Watchmaking has always fascinated me and I started a few years back with some basic case and bracelet refinishing, hand relume, and time regulation. After doing a bunch of research and acquiring the right tools and with some encouragement from my local watchmaker, I finally took the plunge into servicing a movement, 73 Seiko 6106. Rebuilt that movement 3 times with help from others on WUS before I was happy with it. My most recent project was a 6319 and I was very pleased with the results.
This appears to be the place to be for Seiko and Citizen. My current project watch will be a 7017-6010 Speedtimer. I know this is a big undertaking but I am going to go slow and take my time. I did a search for the service manual in the archives here but could only find the parts sheet. I did find a thread with a bunch of great pictures and notes. Can anyone provide me with or point me to a source for the service sheets on a 7017-6010. I would be eternally grateful.

An ode to the Rolex Submariner Date Sub 116613LB
This is a discontinued, hard-to-find-in-this-condition Orient Sub 2ER00004D. It is almost NOS (display piece) and in complete set: outer box, inner box, manual, guarantee card, tags, hologram sticker, and with traces of the protective plastic still on the end links
Date display with cyclops
40mm case diameter, 20mm lug width
Screw down crown
Gold plated SS bracelet, fold-over buckle with safety
Blue dial with gold lined indices, blue insert
Gold plated SS bezel with blue insert and gold inlays
Unidirectional bezel clicks perfectly
Service history is unknown, but just like with any Orient, the watch runs with a few shakes.
I decided not wear this (so I can check for accuracy) as I want to preserve its condition and not add any unwanted marks. Bracelet resized for photos only.
US$500 via Paypal (net)
Shipment: Free via commercial courier (DHL/ FedEx tie-up)
