Citizen mini Arnie 8960-083997 crystal gasket

Those with elephantine memories may recall that I picked this one up in a lot and am (very slowly) getting it done for my son. Well, it’s pretty much done now. The only issue is that the crystal gasket does not hold the crystal in place. At all. Not even slightly. So I guess it has compressed as a wise man has told me that it was probably just all the DNA that was holding things together.

Can anyone tell me what gasket I need to buy? I can’t find a part list and it’s frustrating that this is the last piece of the jigsaw.

Thanks chaps!

Oh, by the way - what does the extra line of numbers mean? (30-1116). I can’t find that in any of the descriptions. Probably a beginners question but I know a lot more about Seiko’s than Citizen’s (and I know bugger all about Seiko’s compared with 90% of you lot!)

$5 Vintage King Seiko Chronometer Auction Find

My dad called me this morning from a local auction and told me he found a couple vintage seikos and asked if I’d like him to bid for me.He sent me a couple photos and I told him "if the price is right, bid away!" He bought a blue Seiko 6119 for $12, and a King Seiko Hi-beat chronometer for $5!

Here are a few photos:

https://imgur.com/a/EabSuO8

It is missing the crystal and the back of the second hand is bent. Definitely has some patina that has developed. Still, looks pretty original to me. Has likely been sitting since 1992 or longer.

If anyone has any guidance or advice about the watch I would appreciate it!

Hey there,
I've been collecting watches for several years now one of my favorites being my Seiko snkl15. I recently read up on watch modification, where you can modfiy the appearance of your watch by changing all kinds of customs part. I have never been a hands on guy when it comes to repairing watches, so I am not quiet sure it is wise for me to indulge in this practice as it seems a bit complicated and intimidating. (Last time I tried taking apart stuff with small screws I ended up breaking my laptop) I was wondering, if anyone on here has some hands on experience on watch modification and could help me assess the difficulty of doing so. If I do it, I really want to go for it and customize almost all exchangeable parts.

Recommendations for a 37-39 mm Seiko Chronograph

Greetings! As someone warned me about, I've been bitten by the Seiko quartz chrono bug. Can someone recommend a Seiko chronograph for me between 37 to 39mm? I have thin wrists. I think the chronographs Seiko made for the RAF are very cool but can't pay the premium prices they go for.

I know it's a long shot. My dad passed away and my mom found his old watch. It works, but it's missing the case back. Looking for a case or back. Thanks.

Guy at work comes up to me and says he was at a jewelers house to get a battery for his Seiko. So they offers him 3 watches with new batterys for 12 dollars. So he buys them and shows them to me. then he says the gold one with diamonds is hand wind. when I looked at it I couldn't help notice someone scratched the serial number in on the back of it . Is this a fake? It is a handwind. Im not sure what to tell him. The watch does have 14k stamped on the braclet

Citizen Eco-Drive - battery replacement question.

Hello Guys,

Hopefully this is the right place. I just got a ladies Citizen Eco-Drive World Time XC, to check. The watch was not receiving signal for what it seemed to be a charge problem. So after reading all the manual I proceeded to check power reserve and charging. One really sunny day helped me got energy to setup the watch correctly and received the right signal to get the right time. Left it around on an open space for a couple of days and check out the power reserve..... That apparently was okay! (Watch was still getting light)
So put it away in a darker place and when checking again the sign for low power activated and the watch wasn't able to get the radio signal. So far I would say the capacitor/battery is not holding charge.

So come to my two questions : first of all, is there any other test or procedure I may tempt before changing the battery?
Second, if I go into changing it I need some help to get the right one. The movement is a H240. So far the only capacitor that listed a similar movement (H246) was the 295-753 (is that correct? Looking for confirmation) I was reading another thread on the change of MT to CTL batteries...... The 295-753 I found is the CTL621F is that okay?
Full disclosure: as my research wasn't going anywhere I opened the casebacks to check the battery which is a FDK UT621. So I am wondering if the CTL621F is compatible since I cannot find another FDK

Thank you in advance for your help!

I have had this 6309-704X case floating around for a while, Someone did a Trip-Lock conversion and used epoxy or jb weld or ??? What would you do with this case ? The Trip-Lock works and stem engages in a 6309 movement and is functional. But what does one do with it ? TIA

I really liked the look of them when they came out and still fancy one.

Are they not popular or where they considered a bit pricey ?
