FS: Seiko Pogue 6139-6005/-6009 Blue Dial NICE! $100 USD Shipped

$

Seiko spare dial for a 6139-6005 or -6009 Pogue. Vintage OEM 100% Genuine Seiko. Not an aftermarket repro. Dial code on back maybe dates to Aug 1973?

This is one extremely well preserved blue dial for the Pogue. This one would be perfect except you can see minor marks from removing the original hand set, they are minimal (see photos) and would be hard to see when mounted.

Blue shimmer still shows as the angle of the light changes the blue 'wedges' change with the angle all around the dial. Original lume is creamy and perfect. All ink is there, nothing missing. Crisp clear text.

Based on -6009 dial text and 2 lines at 12 o'clock, this is 100% proper for the 6139-6005 & 6139-6009.

Needless to say will fit any Pogue with either a 6139A or 6139B movement.

$100 USD shipped CONUS Priority Mail with tracking. Outside USA have to add the $14.50 USPS First Class International wtih tracking postage charge.

Thanks for looking ! PM if interested.

For sale several project watches. I will ship the watches world wide at buyers cost. :)

5606-7010
A Lord-Matic model for the Chinese market so therefor without the LM mark on the dial. Runs, day/date quickset working but the crystal is cracked on the side so that would need replacing idealy. Condition is fair, some scratches and a bit of wear on the gold plating

Price: 45 euro

6100-8000 Skyliner
A nice JDM model these Skyliners. Unfortunately this watch is not running at all. So it will need to get serviced/repaired. Some dots/spots/patina on the dial.

Price: 35 euro

6106-7690 5Actus SS
This is the watch of the bunch that needs the least doing to it, in fact it is fine as it is. But the faceted crystal has been replaced by a normal flat one, the bracelet it short and has an SQ clasp instead. But the watch runs well, quicksets work without problems and hacking works too.

Price: 45 euro

6119-7460
This watch also runs fine but as can be seen could do with a new crystal (or the old one needs to get sanded and polished). Comes on the original bracelet.

Price: 35 euro

7009-206c
Watch runs but as can been seen could also do with a new crystal.

Price: 20 euro

7009-8750
Watch doesnt run and the crystal has some fine cracks.

Price: 20 euro

FS Seiko 6309 cushion case hybrid 7548 movement £295

Lovely condition cushion case hybrid on an ISOFRANE rubber strap
I had this serviced around 1 year ago so timekeeping is excellent, it had a new battery at that time too of course
Case is in really great condition, no major dings.
I had the hands painted to look like a 7C43, I prefer them that way

Nice bi directional clicking action on the bezel, crown screws down, day-date quickset all OK, everything operating as it should.

Seiko should have put something like this in production!

PM me here or 7C43fan@gmail.com

I'll post a few more pictures tomorrow

Grand Seiko 4520-8000

This is a very recent pickup and my first vintage Grand Seiko. I'm very impressed with the quality of the case, dial, and hands of this watch, especially how it has help up for 50 years. Tanaka's Grammar of Design is just a joy to see in person. I've always been drawn to angular case design, and this epitomizes it.

For a Dress watch, this one is just about the perfect size. The case diameter is 36.5mm, with 42mm lug to lug, and since it's hand-wind, only 9.5mm thick. It wears very slim and easily fits under a sleeve.

My only issues will be having to have a watch strap custom made. Right now it is on a 19mm that tapers down to 16mm strap (which is a bit small by today's standards). The issue is the original GS buckle, which is actually for a 15mm wide strap. As of right now, the open end of the strap is kind of "stuffed" through the buckle and my concern is the price it is going to cost to get a strap made.

Besides that, this is a wonderful watch. I am so enamored with it, that I may soon start looking for excellent examples of date and day/date models (maybe in automatics) for daily wear.

stem trouble

In my early days learning to mod etc. I broke the stem off in a brand new NH36 movement. I can see the end of it but cant quit get a hold of it to pull it out. Any ideas? I will just use it as a learning movement and start taking it apart if there isnt a trick.

Seiko Atlas, cannot unscrew ring under bezel

Hello

I am trying to disassembly a Seiko Atlas 7s36-01E0
Under the bezel seems to be a ring with inserts similar to case backs that appear to be there for a tool like case back tool.
I cannot unscrew that ring. Is it glued? Is it counter clockwise?
I am afraid of compass ring so I havent tried to heat it up.

Thanks

I have an old Seiko 8223a-7109 gold tone and the date is changing, but not the day of the week. What can be causing that? It has two languages, English and French. It starts to switch over and then just goes back to the same day.

My delivery from my awesome Craigslist find arrived this morning and I am one very happy camper! The Arnie is nearly flawless with the original strap I believe. The Pulsar is like new as well. The Flightmaster is beautiful but not currently running. The Casio diver's analog isn't working but the digital is and it looks beautiful. The AMW-320 Casio is excellent also but not running but I may be able to AC it and get it going. When you hear what I paid for all these including the DW-5600 G-Shock you will not believe it. :)

I'm headed out to play 9 holes and will be back with more pictures later.

Seiko orange chrono hand question

$

I've had this orange chrono hand in my parts box for many years.
Do any of the parts gurus know what model it was from?
The odd thing is the ball on the end of the hand.
I have placed a standard (badly repainted) hand next to it to show the extra length the ball makes.

By the way the 6138 case back shown in the photo actually has a very faintly stamped 7 to start the serial number.

Weekend project 7548-700F

Ive been out of the game for a while, but have recently felt the urge to both acquire some watches and tinker a bit.

With that in mind I took a punt on this 7548-700F lot on ebay (some assembly required!)

Received it the other day and have been thinking about what to do, the case needs refinishing and to be honest I think it will be easier to find a replacement and relegate this one to a beater (although might be interesting to test out some polishing/refinishing techniques on it). I also dont have a spare 7548 movement currently, but did have a y513 (Pulsar 2 jewel) equivalent.

Unfortunately due to not having done any work for a while I didnt take any in progress photos, several bits were quite challenging and various parts missing (the crystal gasket and retaining ring caused me a headache. I didnt use the hour and minute hands, I plan to re-lume them as they were a bit grotty so I used a set of SKX hands I had in my small spares box still. I also had to use a spare used crystal I had.

It has what I think is a large spline crown, which is nice. Ive fitted a used SKX insert I had, it needs a pip, but will enlarge the hole to closer match the original before luming it.

Anyway, here is the 'finished' article. (more like work in progress). Can't see the blue very well in the photo, but it definitely is! Also the lume on the dial has a nice aged look that didnt really come out. (Apologies for the orientation, ill sort that out. And the date is wrong - just noticed! Doh) Of course now the problem is I feel the urge to properly restore it - although it is very wearable as is I think.

Crystal substitution question

For you experts out there:

Seiko #320W08AN00

Can I use a 320T08AN00?

I believe the "T" is for tension ring which I don't need. Can I use the T08 minus the tension ring?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Mike
