Invitation of Seiko on Baselworld
Hello to all Seikoholics
I talked few days ago with John about my experience with Seiko on Baselworld, so he recommended to write a review about what happened.
I know there is another Seiko Baselworld thread here but I wanted to show more wristshots and comparings and few backstage pics with some more details and of course about the presence of Seiko on Baselword.
I excuse my english first, I hope anything is understandable and also right :-)
Maybe some guys are knowing me as a Seiko crack in Uhrforum. So last year I have started two big Seikoholic meetings in Dortmund, Germany. On the second one John and Mr.Jones here from SCWF and also Jurgen and Rob van Herpt from monsterwatches came to support it too. Thank you guys again for this. The other good thing on my Seikoholic events was, Seiko Germany was also on my meetings. So a true real communication between Seikoholics like me and Seiko Germany was the result of that connection.
This year on 23. of june my next Seikoholic meeting will be in Dortmund and Seiko Germany will show again their new collection. So they invited me "the Seiko crack from Uhrforum ;-) " to Basel to show me the new Seiko collection before.
After a long travel from Dortmund to Basel I was standing the first time in front of the gates of Baselworld :-)
![]()
You have to know I was late for my meeting with Laila from Seiko ,a very great girl from Seiko germany ;-) , so I passed all the brands without any interest and went thru directly to the floor of Seiko !
![]()
There I was. A great presence from Seiko. Really. In my opinion typical Seiko.
I went directly to the reception of Seiko. Anywhere were many japanese and many business men from over the world.
I told the symphathy lady who I am. She looked in a book and found my name. " please wait a moment , sir" she said . So I waited there and looked around. Few minutes later Laila came across with Mr.Schneider , the sales manager of Seiko Germany. I knew him from my first Seikoholic event so it was good for me :-)
They took me in thru a lounge. It was really very nice. We sit down and drink something together. After that we talked about some really necessary updates for Seikos future about fighting against price dumpings for example from creation watches and some german local price dumpers and their futures. It will be change something in the future for us all. ;-)
A scuba wave will come from Tokio and it will be not nice for some price dumpers. Lets see in the future what they tried to explain me :-)
Few moments later Herr Deckert (Director of Seiko Germany since 2011) came and pleased me upstairs to the seperate lounge rooms. So Mr Schneider , Mr Deckert and me went in to talk about the new Seiko Watches. Yeah
A quick look back to the foyer lounge of Seiko while I went upstairs to the collection room
![]()
So there we are. Lets start to look to some nice watches on the wrist after preparing the collection by Mr Schneider and Mr Deckert ;-)
![]()
First of all. My favorit. The SLA025. In germany it comes in a set with a knife.
![]()
What a great dream watch...
But is it to big for my wrist?
![]()
No it is a perfect size for me. Here next to my SLA017
![]()
So lets look on the backcase...
![]()
Yes the SLA025 flashed me from the first moment. So I ordered and cannot think about another watch. Shit
It was nice for me to notice Mr Deckerts watch . It was a SBDX001 . I have also one too. Thats a good taste!
![]()
The second flasher for me was the SLA019.
Lets see the beauty.
A really nice Marinemaster Deep Forest
![]()
it will be sure sold out quickly
![]()
Also a flasher for me was this one here...
![]()
Typical handmade Grand Seiko with an unbeleavable nice dial
So we go on with some wristshots of the prospeks line and some presages and some store pictures.

3 Projects Done
I had a very productive weekend, partially due to Esslinger getting my Crystals and gaskets here in 2 days, and finally some sunshine for the UV cement. I almost bought a UV light, I've been waiting over a week for some good sunshine and finally had a sunny Saturday. A few days ago I rebuilt a 7009 and I managed to get two 6106 movements rebuilt this weekend, got all 3 cases cleaned up, 2 new crystals installed, and all 3 watches finished.
.
6109-7570 DX
Very unique case, I really like the way this one came out. I went with a double domed crystal, I didn't care for the faceted one.

.
6106-8089 DX
The case and crystal was rough on this one. Had to polish both and refinsh the case surfaces.
Attachment 370290
.
7009-876J
This one has a nice ribbed texture to the dial, and a great dark blue dial. Pictures just don't do the color of Seiko dials any justice.

Oh Dear Another Merlot 'Experience'.
A wet Easter Sunday at home, the most boring day of the year. So I turned to eBay in the evening, glass of Merlot in hand and bottle on the coffee table. I had quaffed a glass or two and before I know it, I had left an offer on this one apparently. When I got up this morning, there was a message on my mobile from Ebay, saying I was the lucky winner of this watch !! Great !!
So for better or worse it is on it's way, well it will be when Royal Mail re starts.

Seiko 6139 chronograph resetting issues...help!
Hi all,
Relatively new to this site so please bear with me :)
I recently bought a seiko 6139 chronograph but it appears the chronograph wont rest to zero properly. Sometimes it resets to 55mins, sometimes it resets to 5 mins past. I'm referring to the centre seconds.
The timekeeping of the watch is fine and the subdial resets back to 0 without any issues.
Any ideas what is happening? I tried removing the seconds hand and reinstalling at 0 after I manually reset the chronograph but since it resets to different times i'm guess its not the installation.
Appreciate any help! thanks in advance

Nice watch, Pulsar.
Got it from a friend. Polished it and put in a new battery. Fits the criteria for a good simple watch a watchmaker gave me. Stainless case, japanese quartz movt, 100 m water resist.
Nice, albeit I dont know how old.

Very rare opportunity
The legendary 7005-8140 ordered by the Iranian king Pahlavi for his officers before the revolution. The watch has the royal Lion / Sun insignia. The persian text on the dial says "Royal Army" and the engraving on the back says "Goverment property"..
The watch is in good shape (see pics) and keep good time. The watch comes with the bracelet but Imo the watch is better on a tropic or leather.
Price: 1700eur PayPal f/f

FS: Seiko 6117-8009 abomination/project $60 SOLD
For sale here is a 6117-8009 from April 1968, movement is a 6117A.
I have had it a very long while and it has just sat in a project draw, wrong bezel, a gold scroll or something on the dial at the 12 position, no movement retaining ring, trys to run but stops very quickly so the movement needs a service at the very least, crystal poor.
Crown turns the hands and quick sets the date the date also changes at 12pm, case never been polished.
So selling has a project not as a NOS chronometer :)
Price $60 plus shipping dependant on where you are, if of any interest then please pm/email, watch and me are in the UK, thanks.

FS: Seiko SBDB009 Ti Spring Drive Tuna ~ $2250
For sale is a Seiko SBDB009 Marinemaster Professional 600m Titanium Spring Drive Tuna in great condition.
This is the absolute lowest priced entry to the world of Seiko Spring Drive technology.
The SD movement has a 72 hr power reserve and the smoothest sweeping hour hand youll ever see.
It comes with full kit, outer/inner box, two manuals, and Seiko Certificate of Guarantee. Watch is from 2014, I am the second owner and have worn the watch handful of times.
The watch is in great condition, the previous owner did wear it in rotation with other watches.
Bezel and crystal are flawless. Only things of note are a small nick near the bezel pip on the shroud and two hairline marks (can only be seen under harsh light) on the lip of the shroud by 4 and 5 oclock (please refer to the pictures).
Some light wear on the titanium DLC keeper but the buckle and strap are in excellent condition.
The crown on this beauty is the much sought after engraved S crown, not the laser etched X on the current Prospex SD Tuna.
Timekeeping is spot-on, as you'd expect from Spring Drive and the lume is ridiculously bright (refer to the picture, even lights up the text on the dial).
Asking $2250 shipped and insured. Prefer US buyer, international is negotiable with buyer responsible for shipping and customs.
No trades please and thanks.

Seiko 4843 GQ rate adjustment
Hi, does anyone have experience of, or know where there is a tech guide, to be able to rate set one of these single quartz with thermo-compensation movements please?
It has a conventional trimmer pot screw adjuster but in addition, another adjuster which i assume is for the thermo compensation? The main trimmer gets the rate close(ish) +0.25 s/d but i'm sure the other one will help. Don't want to start twiddling that without some advice first though. I have a 4842 which is running about 12 s/yr!! so these old movements are capable of very high accuracy.
I have searched the web and forums and located the Seiko 9923 tech guide which explains the rather complicated procedure for a twin quartz, but the 48** guide only refers to the main trimmer. Can anyone help please? many thanks

FS: SKX field mod, drilled lugs, 180
I've got the insane desire for a certain round quartz Seiko :) and I'm in the process of selling some pieces to fund it. I hope I'd not regret it!
I'm offering a modded SKX, field style: lugs are drilled by TheTigerUK, standard 7s26 movement (although newer than the caseback suggests, was on a 2015 production watch) that works great, original SNX809 field dial with lumed numerals, Yobokies SUS style hands with C1 lume, dr.Seikostain brushed steel chapter ring.
Has some marks and signs from use on the case and crystal, but overall in nice conditions.
No box, comes with long shoulderless 2mm spring bars on a green one piece NATO.
Asking 180 shipped in EU, overseas please ask.
Thank you
