An Unexpected Purchase.
Because of the snow etc last month, I was unable to work for several days, as the company I work for is a small company, although i'm a manager there, if I don't work I don't get paid. However, being paid yesterday, the month turned out better than I expected money wise.
I have had one of these in my sights for a while, I thought I bought one before, but hadn't, I bought a Sportura. This one is a Yacht Timer from 2008, I saw this one and put it in my 'watched items' just in case....After doing the calculations, i.e. how much I got against outlay for the month, ( Yes, I remembered Council Tax John :)). I discovered I had a lil spare cash over to splash. So I made an offer on it, as it was BIN or offers, which had been accepted, when I got up for work this morning.
Attached are a few of the sellers pics. As usual, any comments adverse or otherwise are always welcome.

FS: King Seiko 5246-5000 90
For sale my King Seiko 5246-5000. Its not a bad watch at all but it has its downsides. Mainly the backside of the case, where the gold plating is worn. Because of the condition of the case, im letting this go for really cheap. Apart from that the watch runs well and keeps time. I will ship worldwide at buyers cost.

Help with identifying this pocket watch
Hope that this community can help out with this.
I got some watches in today and one of them is this new in the box pocket
watch. On the dial you can see is says: "JR 1872 Shinbashi-Yokohama First An Engin For 29KM". It's limited to 4999 pieces and this one is number 417. It's quartz and I personally don't think it's a very old piece, seeing the commemoration. It's somewhere from the 1990'.
What I wanted to ask you guys if someone can help out with the translations on the box and if someone has more information about this piece, as I can't seem to find anything. The movement in it is a no-jewel and it says Morioka Tokei Inc. on it. It may be nothing special, but still interested to know some more about it.

Just joined, picked up a project, have a few questions
Hello! I just bought this Bellmatic 4006-6027 for extremely cheap with the purpose of restoring it. The watch seems to run but is missing the crown so I havent checked to see how well for fear of something going wrong with it. Parts are abundent for this model so I’m sure it’s repairable.
The questions I have are:
-I know the crystal on these is acrylic or plastic, is there a glass option available anywhere?
-Does anyone have picture of the original metal band for this watch?
-the band that this came with has a Seiko clasp but I’m not sure if it’s the original. The clasp itself also has the name ‘Wilson’ etched into it, I don’t know if it was just personalized or if it has some sort of meaning, shown in the pictures.
Any answers are appreciated, cant wait to get this baby in working condition.

So with this I'm offering this Rare Seiko UFO shaped Presmatic 5146-7000 Hi-Beat 27 Jewels Watch, complete with it's original tags and manual.
The watch is in a rarely seen beautiful condition and fully original. Still has it's original bracelet and the clasp show no wear. It has some miner markings on the caseback from opening the case. Watch is fully working. I haven't tested the accuracy, but the watch was serviced about 5 years ago by the previous owner.

Have been looking out for a very good condition one of these for a while, as close to original as possible. I’m looking for a yellow dial version (which I think is 6009T or 6030T rather than xxxxR, which is more gold?). There are many on Ebay of course, but the majority seem the same knocked around examples / aftermarket dials going around look8ng for a buyer). So thought I would ask here, see if anyone has more than one, and would be prepared to part with.
Proof, resist dial or such like of course good :-)

Case polishing / restoration - uk
Hi!
I have a very nice 7a28 703b which I would like to make perfect. I've added a NOS bezel, new crystal and removed the original bracelet so I can keep it in perfect condition.
I would like to have the case restored to remove a few small marks. Can anyone recommend someone in the uk? I don't want to lose the original edges as they are still quite sharp!

Seiko's Quality Control + Mis-Alignment Issues
I saw this on another forum and thought I'd share it with you guys just in case you haven't seen it. This guy had contacted his Seiko AD about mis-alignment issues with his SRP21A Padi Diver. They in turn contacted Seiko directly. Looks like quality control is out the window.....lol You see guys, It's not an issue after all.........:o
Here is their response to his AD:
We had forwarded your inquiry to Seiko Japan, they reply as below:
Actually, as the watch is one of the mass produced products, the printing misalignment on the dial and
the misalignment of the dial legs positions are allowed to some extent; we set the appearance standard.
Meanwhile, we think it is difficult to adjust the misalignment by repair as it is due to a variety factor (e.g. dial print, dial legs).
Therefore, please kindly ask the customer to accept the appearance level by explaining the above and
the fact that you explained to the customer before the replacement that it could not be guaranteed that the appearance
would be improved dramatically as the watch was within standard originally.

Help with a 4336-8080
My beloved 4336-8080 has finally stopped working after nearly 40 years.
Serial number is 823416.
My local repair shop don't think it is economic to repair, so I'm looking for a replacement movement that I can fit myself.
Does anyone know which movements will fit this case? What would be a suitable donor?
It has a new battery but still does not work. I will strip out the coil to test it, but replacement coils for this movement are rare now, so a replacement movement may be the only option if the electronics have died.
